A mid-week escape full of heart in the stunning acoustic of Elder Hall.
Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin opens with the gentle, pastoral sound of the oboe, a beautiful and impressionistic throwback to the Baroque composer of its namesake. Australian pianist Andrea Lam takes the spotlight in a colourful and cinematic piece from French composer Cécile Chaminade. The concert concludes with Haydn's charming Miracle Symphony, so named after a remarkable performance when a chandelier fell from the ceiling – luckily missing the audience below.

See Annabel Crabb & Leigh Sales on stage in Adelaide for a live recording of their hit podcast.
Chat 10 Looks 3 is the oddly named but nonetheless wildly popular podcast by two of Australia's most high-profile journalists. In 2014 they sat at a kitchen table, hit record on a phone and started a rambling conversation that's still going on (and on). From books to TV, music to cooking, friendship to films, there's little cultural terrain Annabel Crabb and Leigh Sales haven't traversed.
Chat 10 Looks 3 Live brings all the features for which the podcast has become famous; random chat about books, music, cooking and film, poorly-disguised (and indeed not-at-all disguised) insults, unintended disclosures and of course the company of Australia's kindest podcast listenership.
Whether you're a devoted listener of Chat 10 Looks 3, curious as to what all the fuss is about, or simply looking to make some like-minded friends and cry-laugh in a darkened theatre, Chat 10 Looks 3 Live is the show for you.

This Friday hear from fragmented-folk musician Ella Ion.
Emerging from Kaurna Land/Adelaide, Ion crafts music that cuts deep to the core. Drawing on influences of indie-rock, folk and country, her eloquent lyricism and masterful musical control delivers a cacophony of raw emotion, anchored by grit and heart.
Like her songwriting, Ion's live performances demonstrate the musician's masterful range. From intimate encounters of tender folk to electrifying post-rock arrangements, Ion flaunts her ability to transform a room of anyone and everyone into a fan with her magnetic stage presence, considered songwriting and angelic vocal range.
Ella Ion is holding nothing back as she barrels forward in a direction of raw sonic and personal exploration. Ion has supported Suki Waterhouse, Folk Bitch Trio, Jake Bugg, and Greg Mendez at shows across Australia, UK and Europe, as well as taking to the stage at The Great Escape Festival and Green Man Festival in the UK.
Tickets for this event are available online only, please book in advance. Last entry is at 8pm.
