80s and 90s Singalong Paint and Sip by Paint Juicy in Tin Can Bay

Sat, 5 Dec, 6:00 pm AEST

Tin Can Bay · From $59

Paint Juicy hosts a 1980s and 1990s singalong paint and sip session in Tin Can Bay, on the Cooloola Coast in the Gympie region of Queensland, a short run from Rainbow Beach. Guests gather for an evening of guided painting set to 1980s and 1990s music, with a host artist leading the group through a step by step canvas while live vocals and a curated playlist run through the room. Painters sing along to the bangers, paint at their own pace and leave with a finished canvas worth keeping. No painting experience is needed. All materials including canvas, paints, easel, brushes and aprons are supplied. Natural breaks between layers give everyone time to grab a drink, take photos and catch their breath before the next singalong moment. Paint Juicy is a fully mobile paint and sip experience travelling across Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The brand has hosted more than forty two thousand guests and has been recognised as a Best of Queensland Experience every year since 2022. Gympie

Located in the heart of Gympie, Memorial Park is a peaceful, triangular-shaped space combining natural beauty with historical significance. Shaded by mature trees and framed by colourful gardens and open lawns, it's an ideal setting for a picnic or quiet moment of reflection. The park was officially opened in 1921 to honour the 167 local men who lost their lives in World War I. Returned servicemen completed much of the groundwork, including winding gravel paths and raised stone rockeries filled with annuals, perennials, and roses. Palms, jacarandas, pines, and poinsettias were also planted, creating a vibrant living memorial. The 1920 rotunda honours a respected local bandmaster and remains a popular gathering point. A sandstone monument also pays tribute to James Nash, who sparked the Gympie gold rush.

Gympie Golf Club Historical Mining Signs

Gympie

Naming the golf holes at Gympie was a project Gympie Golf Club member Greg Lewis had hoped to do for some time. Many members & visitors might remember an original idea was to name the holes after their natural features—names like Lizard's Lair and The Big Dipper. However, that concept evolved when they discovered that two of the holes are located on the sites of old gold mines. The 7th par 4 and the 17th par 3 Holes. With the Club's 100-year anniversary approaching, the idea gained new purpose, and Greg began researching online, speaking with members, and consulting local sources such as the Gold Mining Museum and the Gympie Library. After many hours—and indeed, several years—the project has finally come to fruition. The signs are arranged in chronological order, beginning with James Nash and ending with Eldorado, the last operating gold mine in Gympie. Each sign also includes a "Did You Know?" section featuring interesting historical facts and stories about the Club and the local gold mining era. There are five signs with QR codes which can be downloaded and listened to whilst enjoying a game of golf.
