Synopsis:
What does it mean to keep going when no-one believes in you?
Eyes Like Diamonds follows passionate conservationist Neil Waters on his relentless mission to prove the Tasmanian Tiger still exists.
Once celebrated, now ridiculed, Neil's decade-long search through the Tasmanian wilderness becomes as much a story of redemption and belief as it is about science and survival.
Through Neil's journey, the film explores the importance of conservation, the ethics of extinction, the limits of evidence, and the enduring human need to find purpose in something greater than ourselves.
Thylacine researcher Neil Waters, filmmaker Jonathon Buckland and Cinematographer Gourav Gandhi will attend a Q&A after the event to talk about all things Thylacines and filmmaking.

The Beach House Hotel Hundy Festival is a weekend of multisport events. The jewel is a long course triathlon consisting of a two kilometre swim, 80 kilometre bike and 18 kilometre run. It takes place along the beautiful foreshore of the protected waters of Hervey Bay. The Hundy festival is run by the Hervey Bay Triathlon Club.
Happening also is the HitFM Hervey Bay 50, a standard distance race on the Saturday of the festival weekend. Each event has an associated Aquabike event for those that don't like the idea of running.
For the swimmers, there is the Barge2Beach, a now iconic event where you are taken offshore in a Whale watching catamaran to jump off and swim the 2km back to shore.
Paint Juicy hosts a 1990s and 2000s singalong paint and sip session in Hervey Bay on the Fraser Coast. Guests gather for an evening of guided painting set to 1990s and 2000s music, with a host artist leading the group through a step by step canvas while a curated playlist runs through the room. Painters sing along to the bangers, paint at their own pace and leave with a finished canvas worth keeping.
No painting experience is needed. All materials including canvas, paints, easel, brushes and aprons are supplied. Natural breaks between layers give everyone time to grab a drink, take photos and catch their breath before the next singalong moment. The format suits adults after a more memorable night out than a standard dinner or drinks, and it is a popular pick for hens nights, birthdays and work groups.
Paint Juicy is a fully mobile paint and sip experience travelling across Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The brand has hosted more than forty two thousand guests and has won the Best of Queensland Experience award every year since 2022. Hosts are warm and entertaining, the soundtrack is properly curated and the focus is on real entertainment rather than silent painting.
