The fire never really goes out. Old doesn't mean boring. Let's just pretend parties are picnics and you might make bedtime.
Enjoy a warm day on the grass with a tip-top international artist and without the heavy ticket price, open to all ages.
Techno Picnic will be held on the Molonglo River at the ACT Waterski Club.
For years, this crew threw warehouse parties. Late and loud with ridiculous artists. Techno Picnic has the same soul with decorum: earlier, cheaper, a bit more 'picnic'.
Headlining is D-Nox with a four-hour set. For those unfamiliar, D-Nox has been a global mainstay of melodic and progressive techno for decades. Driving beats, rolling basslines and emotional builds that sneak up and get you when you least expect it. Some might remember 2019, when he turned Verity Lane into a big trampoline. It's an honour to have him back, now with grass and frisbees.
Playing beforehand is Waxlily — an Escape Ferocity warehouse resident who's been away charming Sydney, now coming home to sprinkle that sparkly energy and seamless mixing across the afternoon. Lunch has never sounded so good.
Bring your mates or the cute little ratbags.
Bring a blanket, snacks and an esky of (any) drinks, or
Enjoy a cocktail, local wine and delicious food available.

The 2026 Craft + Design Canberra Festival celebrates Canberra as a creative capital and showcases the work of over 500 creatives, connecting them with the Canberra community.
The 2026 Festival responds to the theme of Dissent and advocates for creativity as a powerful tool for questioning, challenging and reshaping societal norms. The program explores design for environmental and social impact, sustainability and accessibility in creative practice, and the future of Canberra as a city. Woven through the program is the value of the handmade and the locally made, which builds skill and wellbeing, keeps material knowledge moving between generations, and has proven environmental sustainability.
Across ten days, more than 120 activations bring Dissent to Canberra: symposiums, events, talks, tours, workshops, open studios, design markets, and performance in fashion, dance and theatre. Across November, exhibitions and public art carry the theme into the galleries and public spaces of the city.

ALTER is a presentation of two new works at Belco Arts, epitomising excellence in Canberra centred creativity. Led by Canberra artists of international repute in collaboration with leading ASEAN artists from Kuala Lumpur, a current UNESCO City of Design, both works have been supported by Creative Australia funding.
Born of design and innovation, ALTER is a double bill of dance works exploring the potential of new design technology in the interplay between body, identity and cross cultural exchange. Drawing on 35 years of Liz Lea's specialisation in classical Indian and contemporary dance, as well as focused research into the power of the Metaverse as an accretive design tool, ALTER brings technology to the fore to enable symbiotic interaction between real and virtual bodies, where movement creates visuals in a projected environment.
ALTER speaks to the brutalist architecture of Canberra's design and its surrounding nature. As the largest example of Australia's Garden City Movement, Canberra is recognised internationally as a designed and planned city, and yet nature prevails, its untamed energy making the city hum. Just as Walter Burley Griffin's designs were based on the natural topography of the land, ALTER draws from the natural topography of the body.
