Innovative, disruptive, and deeply original – BIGYUKI is a magnet for adjectives, but remarkably resistant to labels.
Probably best described as one of the most exciting live musicians working anywhere in the world, New York-based Japanese keyboardist, composer, and producer BIGYUKI (JPN/USA) has built a global reputation for creating music that refuses to stay in one place.
Blending jazz, soul, hip hop, and electro with fearless improvisation, his performances are immersive, unpredictable, and unlike anything you've experienced before.
After establishing himself as one of New York's most sought-after session musicians, BIGYUKI became the collaborator of choice for some of the biggest artists on the planet including Kamasi Washington, Lauryn Hill, Robert Glasper, J. Cole, Bilal and A Tribe Called Quest (he's also appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as part of Jon Batiste's house band).
But it's through his own music that BIGYUKI has become one of contemporary music's most compelling voices.
Driven by infectious grooves, dazzling musicianship and an unmistakable sonic identity, his trio moves effortlessly between explosive energy and moments of epic restraint.
Presented in the intimacy of The Barn, this exclusive, debut Tasmanian performance offers a rare chance to experience one of contemporary music's most innovative artists up close.
Come curious. Leave completely blown away.
You will be thoroughly entertained with these classic shows!
Once upon a time in a land far away, a kingdom had a rather unusual problem: Queen Aggravain decreed that no couples could marry until her son found a bride. To stop that happening she set impossibly difficult tests for all the Princesses who apply. Enter Princess Winnifred — an unconventional swamp princess who is more than happy to turn the kingdom upside down. Raucous, romantic, full of colourful characters and packed with sidesplitting shenanigans, Once Upon a Mattress puts a hilarious twist on the 'Princess and the Pea' fairy tale.
Then, Broadway razzle dazzle hits town as young city slicker Bobby Child is sent to Deadrock, Nevada to foreclose on the local theatre. After promptly falling in love with the theatre owner's daughter, he uses cunning, razzmatazz and a case of mistaken identity to save the theatre and win her heart. Crazy For You's memorable Gershwin tunes include "I Got Rhythm" "They Can't Take That Away From Me" "Nice Work if You Can Get It" and "Someone to Watch Over Me".
Big theatre. Young stars.

Enjoy a wonderful evening out in Hobart at the Art Bar at Hadleys.
Free entry.
Michael Roberts is a Tasmanian musician and producer who worked for many years in Sydney and toured internationally.
At the grand piano he plays and sings from a huge repertoire that embraces different eras from the American Songbook through the golden years of the '60s to the '80s and '90s. You could hear classics from Lennon/McCartney, Elton John and Billy Joel.
From Burt Bacharach, Simon and Garfunkel, Carole King and James Taylor to Australian classics from Paul Kelly, Crowed House and many others. Requests are welcome.
From Star Wars to Jurassic Park, Harry Potter to Jaws, and Indiana Jones to Home Alone, no composer has shaped the sound of the movies quite like John Williams.
With more Academy Award nominations than any other living person, John Williams' music makes for an extraordinary live experience.
Who better to celebrate the best of Williams' career than the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra? In a special concert event, the TSO and TSO Chorus, Art of the Score podcasters Andrew Pogson, Dan Golding, and conductor Leonard Weiss will take you into the musical world of Williams in a love letter to the great Maestro.
This performance does not feature any screens or film footage.

With pirates, buried treasure and plenty of swagger, it's a rollicking musical adventure for the whole family.
Then, things take a deliciously dark turn with The Addams Family, where Wednesday Addams has fallen in love with a very 'normal' young man and decides to introduce him to her wonderfully weird family. What could possibly go wrong? As the Addams and Beineke families come together for one unforgettable dinner, secrets, surprises and plenty of Addams-style mayhem are guaranteed.

Five times ARIA Award winning artist Katie Noonan has released her 30th studio album: Alone but All One.
The album is an intimate and powerful exploration of love in all its stages and features Katie's first songwriting collaboration with acclaimed writer Trent Dalton. The album is a powerful and delicate offering with Katie's piano and a string quartet the only accompaniment for her exquisite vocal performance.
Alone but All One is a quiet turning inward - a return to something essential. Musically it is very stripped back - just Katie, her piano and a string quartet, recorded live in her lounge room on Gubbi Gubbi Country in the hills behind Nambour, Queensland.
It feels like a deep breath before the next chapter. The creative intention is clear: to honour this moment, share it with care, and trust that others will feel themselves in it too.
