Load up the car, choose your playlist and head d'outh to the south west corner of the state to see why this park is one of Western Australia's favourite holiday destinations.
Spend at least one day here and you'll have outstanding memories that will last a lifetime. You can drive or walk one of the many trails through tall green forests all the way to the stunning coastline. In the late afternoon see why we all say 'west is best' and drive to the coast to catch the sun setting over the Indian Ocean.
Leap out of your comfort zone and explore one of the many underground limestone caves or catch a gnarly wave at one of the well-known surf breaks. There's plenty of wildlife to see such as sting rays close to shore, dolphins, whales, kangaroos, possums, quendas and reptiles.
Glenarty Road is an honest and down-to-earth travel destination that weaves a tapestry of wine, food and regenerative farming. This patch of land has been home to the family for five generations. It has evolved from original bush to rich fertile soils, a sheep farm, a vineyard and a vegetable garden, to the 2021 best regional restaurant in WA. Their rustic little farmhouse and wine bar bring together our creatively crafted wines, seasonal produce, grass-fed meats, house-made charcuterie and local goods in a farm-to-table style feast and real farm experiences.
Dig a little deeper and beyond the farm gate with their real farm experiences. Forage for food and wine on the farm, wander through the regeneratively raised kitchen garden, enjoy a flight of wild wine and farm food or experience the small-batch winemaking.
Changing with the seasons, they always have something to share with curious and conscious food and wine lovers. Their passion is to create honest experiences that showcase the backyard and share stories. They love to engage the senses and spark curiosity in those who visit.
Head to the tranquil water playground of Augusta’s Hardy Inlet, on the south-west tip of Western Australia, a top beauty spot for a walk, swim, kayak, cruise, fish or a relaxing picnic.
The inlet, where the Blackwood and Scott rivers converge, is a three-and-a-half-hour drive south of Perth, or an hour south of Busselton (a 50-minute flight from Perth).
One of the world’s most scenic coastal walk trails, the Cape to Cape Track, will also get you here. Starting at Cape Naturaliste near Dunsborough, this epic 135-kilometre walking adventure leads you through the region’s diverse coastal landscapes to nearby Cape Leeuwin.
Enjoy a leisurely cruise or kayak up the Blackwood and Scott Rivers. Pick from a host of picturesque fishing spots, or drop a line from your boat for mulloway, herring, black bream, tarwhine, skippy, tailor and whiting. There are even designated areas where you can water ski or wakeboard.
Explore the foreshore on the boardwalk and spot native fauna and flora, including an array of migratory waders (November to March) and blankets of spring wildflowers. Or venture to nearby Flinders Bay to watch humpback and southern right whales make a rest stop before their migration north (June to September).
The water wheel was built to power a hydraulic ram, which would pump water to supply the lighthouse and keepers' cottages. It quickly became encrusted with a coating of limestone and is now frozen in rock.

The idea of a wild southwest is articulated along the Augusta shoreline. Granny’s Pool is a hamlet from this Southern Ocean expanse.
Tucked up in Flinders Bay, an ocean outcrop of rock rings around the pool and breaks the southerly swells, creating a swathe of calm blue. Stillness in the midst of stunning coastal ferocity.
Family-friendly is a theme along the Flinders Bay coastline, and the landscape surrounding Granny’s Pool is no exception. Hunt for crabs. Snorkel in the shallows. Take breaks beneath nearby shade trees. As the furthest point of land on the southwest coast, exploration forms an enormous part of Augusta’s character and history.
Granny’s Pool is safe harbour for the intrepid, and a wonderful launch pad of adventure for pint-sized pioneers.
