Step back in time and discover Whyalla's rich steelmaking and shipbuilding heritage at the Steel Cap Gallery, located within the historic Tanderra Craft Village. Housed in the original BHP single men's quarters, built in 1942, the gallery tells the story of the workers who helped build ships during World War II and later supported the growth of Whyalla's steelworks. Explore a collection of historic photographs, memorabilia, artefacts and exhibits celebrating the industries, workers and community that shaped Whyalla's unique character. Opening times: Open during the monthly Tanderra Craft Market weekends.
