Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane's iconic Clock Tower.
Tours operate daily taking visitors up the Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower in a beautiful, old, hand-operated lift, providing a bird's-eye view of the city.
The clock tower has been in operation since the opening of City Hall in 1930, and is 87.47 metres high with an observation platform at 64 metres, which people can walk out onto to absorb the unique view of Brisbane. The city is ever-changing – what better a platform to watch from.
Over the years, hundreds of thousands of visitors have taken a ride up to the clock tower. Whilst the view from the observation deck has changed significantly over the past 80 years, it is still a time-honoured tradition to "go up the Clock Tower", a tradition which happily continues at Museum of Brisbane.

Queensland Music Trails (QMT)
Launched in 2023, Queensland Music Trails (QMT) is a flagship cultural tourism program that curates bespoke music events and festivals along regional tourism corridors and lesser traveled routes. These Trails aim to build a legacy leading into the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, inspiring new visitation across Queensland.
Each Trail features a combination of established artists, local performers, immersive nature, First Nations performances and cultural experiences through Queensland's stunning landscapes. As a non-profit, every dollar we earn goes back into the communities we visit, supporting local talent, businesses, and suppliers. Through initiatives like MobTix and Local Legends, we ensure our events are inclusive and accessible, bringing the joy of music to everyone across Queensland.

The Great Boat Approaches brings together poetry, archival works and recent artworks by Meanjin/Brisbane-based artist Deborah Norrie-Jones.
The exhibition is an inquiry into relationships and mortality, tracing Deborah's journey through her husband's terminal illness, their travels together, their return to the homeland, and life after his death. Poetry sits alongside gestural charcoal and pastel drawings, watercolours, oil paintings and recent abstract figurative acrylic works.
Informed by Expressionism and Deborah's background in arts therapy, her practice begins intuitively, with what she describes as a "felt sense on the edge of the unknown". Rapid mark-making is followed by reflection, layering and refinement, allowing images and meanings to emerge gradually.
Many of the earlier works grew from an early morning practice of charcoal drawing during her husband's illness. Across the exhibition, fear, doubt, hope, faith, pain, love, despair and confusion move in and out of focus. Recurring images of boats, water, cliffs and distant landscapes become part of a visual language shaped by memory, travel and lived experience.
Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, Deborah leaves space for viewers to bring their own experiences to the work and find their own meanings within it.
This exhibition will also support Cancer Council, with Creative Room Art Space donating 5% of the sale price of original works sold through the gallery from its commission.

As the second oldest surviving building in Queensland, the Commissariat Store Museum brings the state’s early history to life. The two original storeys were built by convict hands, and it is one of the few remaining structures from the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement (1824-42). The ground floor was used as a colonial/government store from its construction in 1829 until the 1960s, while the first floor was used as accommodation.
The museum contains rotating and permanent exhibitions with a wealth of information about Queensland’s convict and colonial history. Located on William Street in the Brisbane CBD, it is operated by The Royal Historical Society of Queensland, and also houses the Welsby Library.

Brisbane's Story Bridge opened for operation on July 6, 1940. This date came five years after construction commenced and fourteen years after initial recommendations for a river crossing at Kangaroo Point.
Essentially, the Story Bridge was one of the then government's three major public works projects, creating years of employment for many men during the Great Depression. The Story Bridge is the largest steel bridge designed, fabricated and constructed in Australia by Australians.
Currently, the bridge is repainted every seven years using 17500 litres of paint. There is approximately 105000 square metres of painted steel surfaces.
The Story Bridge Adventure Climb is one of only three bridge climbs in the world. Climbing over the steel structure gives you an incredible bird's eye view over Brisbane City, Kangaroo Point and far beyond to the distant mountain ranges and up the Brisbane River.
Beneath the bridge on the Central Business District side is Howard Smith Wharves, a historic shipyard-turned-precinct. The old warehouses have been turned into a craft beer hall and conference spaces, and there are newly built bars, cafes and restaurants along with open parkland.

Come and enjoy the waterfront precinct that celebrates Brisbane’s magnetic energy—harnessing it for all to enjoy, from day to night.
Whether you’re walking, running or cycling, the Brisbane Riverwalk is one of the best ways to move between two of the city's most vibrant precincts. Linking trendy New Farm with the city, the suspended pathway sits above the water and provides a beautiful view across the river to Kangaroo Point and a fresh angle central business district view.
The original floating pathway washed away when major flooding struck Brisbane in 2011 but reopened in 2014 with a new design built to withstand a one-in-2000-year flood. The first walk, constructed in 2003, was a well-used route and the replacement thoroughfare proved just as popular.
Pedestrians and cyclists coming from New Farm can access the path from Riverview Court. On the central business district side, the walkway ends at the historic Howard Smith Wharves where it connects to the riverside boardwalk, creating an uninterrupted route all the way to the Botanic Gardens.
Along the Brisbane Riverwalk the cycling and pedestrian pathways are segregated for safety. An opening span of the pathway allows vessels to access the shoreline where it would otherwise be blocked by the walkway.
