Join We Are Studios co-founders Ebony Wightman and Jordan Valageorgiou for a discussion on the development and impact of their 100% Disability-led, artist-run organisation based in Western Sydney. This conversation considers what becomes possible when Deaf and Disabled people have the authority to build, lead and transform the cultural institutions of the future. Wightman and Valageorgiou will reflect on the making of We Are Studios, the urgency behind its work and its commitment to developing a Disability-led cultural workforce with the capacity to create lasting change.
The partnership between Powerhouse and We Are Studios opens a new chapter, where Disability-led practice is not simply entering the museum, but helping shape what the museum becomes and what it carries forward.
This is an Auslan interpreted event.
This exhibition marks the artist's second solo exhibition in Sydney. Most of the artworks from this exhibition were newly painted during the time the artist staying in Sydney in 2025 and 2026. The collection features vibrant blossoms jacaranda trees lining the residential streets of Sydney, flowers he has captured from his eyes in Sydney's garden. This also includes the landscape paintings inspired by traditional Chinese aesthetics.
Painting inspiration from the beauty of the world around him, he transforms what touches the heart into expressive brushwork, allowing blossoms and landscapes to unfold on Chinese traditional papers with grace and vitality. As the New year approaches, we warmly welcome all visitors to join us in welcoming new year ahead with hope and joy throughout this exhibition.
