Laments on lost notes from old devices and the belief in the new and surviving ones. Solo Spoken word, songwriting and instrumentals exploring life, death, ourselves & the very expression of ideas.
The saddest songs ever written are the ones that are never heard, with 26 year old 'red den' utilising production skills to shape loops & textures around songs & poetry to draw you into the words often lost or 'buried' in the mix, exhuming a body of work they themselves have had buried for long enough with Keyboards, Drum Machines and many (many) Guitars.
Like the powerful mandolinist and composer at its helm, John Reischman and the Jaybirds fashion a stylish take on bluegrass that seamlessly blends original songs and instrumentals with Appalachian old-time music for a truly unique band sound. Now in their 20th year, with seven acclaimed albums and two Juno nominations, the Jaybirds are simultaneously innovative and unadorned, sophisticated and stripped-down, happily old-fashioned and 21st-century contemporary.
Bluegrass Unlimited calls John Reischman "one of the world's undisputed masters" of the mandolin, famed for outstanding tone and taste. Many of his dozens of original instrumentals have become popular favourites for sessions and covers, such as the jam standard Saltspring. He has three critically-acclaimed solo instrumental albums and has recorded on many other projects, including the Grammy-winning True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe. John also plays Latin-based jazz and choro music with highly regarded finger-style acoustic guitarist/composer John Miller; the duo has released three superb albums.

Since helping redefine rock more than half a century ago, Janis Joplin has never stopped finding new audiences. In Tell Mama!, ARIA Award winner Karise Eden revives the spirit and extraordinary legacy of one of rock's most influential voices in a powerful live concert experience.
Rather than an impersonation, Tell Mama! is Karise's deeply personal interpretation of the artist whose music has shaped her own journey. The evening begins with an intimate acoustic set inspired by Janis's early folk-blues recordings before building into a full-scale concert featuring Karise's powerhouse band and a three-piece brass section.
From iconic anthems including Piece of My Heart, Cry Baby, Move Over, Try (Just a Little Bit Harder) and Me and Bobby McGee, to lesser-known gems that reveal Janis's remarkable artistry, the production celebrates a catalogue that remains as vital today as ever.
The show also features Karise's original song, Tomorrow, inspired by Janis's Kozmic Blues, creating a moving bridge between two artists united by fearless emotional honesty and a shared belief in music's power to tell the truth.
Following sold-out performances, Tell Mama! is more than a celebration of an icon. It is a revival of timeless songs through the voice of one of Australia's most distinctive performers.
