What to expect
Aged in Deception is a close up magic show and guided Japanese whisky tasting for five guests, held in a private booth in the 1846 sandstone cellar beneath The Doss House on George Street, The Rocks. Guests share one table with host Magic Manny for about an hour. Japanese whiskies are poured in turn, each with a story about the people and places behind it, while the magic happens inches from their hands. Everyone takes home printed tasting notes, and no whisky knowledge is needed. All five seats can be booked privately for one group. Guests must be 18 or over, and photo ID is checked at the door. Drinks are standard measures served by The Doss House team under responsible service of alcohol rules. The cellar is a 5 minute walk from Circular Quay, 2 minutes from the Overseas Passenger Terminal and 10 minutes from Wynyard, close to the heritage streets and harbour of The Rocks. Guests are asked to arrive ten minutes early, as the show starts on time. Access is by stairs, and the venue is not wheelchair accessible. Guests are encouraged not to drive.
