About this event

What to expect

One of the Macedon Ranges' most enduring creative collectives, the Buttlejorrk Artists group, marks a remarkable milestone this November: 50 years of continuous exhibition and artistic fellowship. This year's 50th anniversary show features original works by 12 collective members alongside invited guest artists from across the Macedon Ranges. Ranging from time-honoured traditional techniques to bold contemporary expressions, the exhibition showcases the depth of regional talent.

Formed in 1976 by a small group of potters keen to share their craft and exhibit together, the collective takes its name from the historical district encompassing Sunbury and Diggers Rest. Today, Buttlejorrk brings together original founding members and newer talent, having expanded over five decades to include painting, woodwork, sculpture, textiles, and jewellery alongside ceramics.

A long-standing fixture on the local arts calendar, the exhibition is an ideal opportunity to support local makers and discover one-of-a-kind distinctive, locally crafted gifts in the lead-up to Christmas..

The community is invited to a meet the artists on 14 November from 11am. Morning tea will be available.

All are welcome, free admission.

Artists are Brandy Monteith, David Bowden, Deidre Chestney, Denise Martin, Fiona Webb, Jan Guest, Marg Altmann, Mim Osmelak, Pam Jackson, Pat Beasley, Samantha Gardiner, Tim Meager and guest artists from Macedon Ranges Potters.
